On the Streets of Calne's Lickhill Ward

I am back now from a long day out and about on the streets in the Lickhill Ward of Calne, working for the election that is due to take place this Thursday.

Many thanks go to Chris, Mark, Michael, Mike, Paul and Richard for your help on what turned out to be a very successful day. We ran out of the first run of election addresses so made do with some stock leaflets, mainly relating to national issues, so if you were looking out for the local leaflet please be patient as you will get one soon.

More people were around today than we would usually see during the week so it was good to talk over the local issues with a few locals and also receive the thumbs up from passing cars, so thanks go to them for their support.

We also bumped into the opposition as one lone Lib-Dem canvasser was making his way around this rather large ward, although to be fair we did see another a bit later. The UKIP team of 4 were also out and about. No sign was seen of Messrs Brown and Widger, the respective Green and Conservative candidates so perhaps the fact I was away last week may mean I have missed them. We saw the UKIP team outside of the shops in Newcroft Road by the Jenny Wren after we had popped into the shop to buy a much needed drink. Whilst in the shop I noticed the headline on the front of the Mail on Sunday newspaper referring to the latest evidence of how the campaign to promote Britishness by Gormless Brown, our unelected Prime Minister, is a sham, as if anyone wondered! British Jobs For British Workers he proclaimed, taking the British National Party's 20 year old policy, as if it were his own. Incapability Brown is now reported as having personally approved a decision to remove Britannia from the 50p coin. What next? A secret plan to remove the lines from the Union Flag and replace them with yellow stars perhaps?

The report goes on to say that all our coinage is to be overhauled by the Royal Mint in April and the patriotic symbol of Britannia is to disappear, a decision personally approved by the British Prime Minister! The overhaul is being billed as the most significant change since decimalisation and coins will be replaced with a representation of modern Britain thereby doing away with yet another Great British tradition.

It's interesting this has come to light now as having just returned from France I was struck with the increasingly similar appearance of the Euro currency to our own. So I was wondering if this might be an attempt to make our currency look like the Euro so our fascist Labour government can introduce the Euro to Britain by claiming that as it appears the same it will make no difference. Brown has signed away to the European Union pretty much all that is left of any power we once had, as well as selling off the countries gold reserves several years ago, so this certainly wouldn't be a surprise to me. The Mail has started a campaign to save the symbol, so sign up! I think we need to watch this space to see how this one develops and whether my thoughts about the back-door introduction of the Euro come to anything.

And so it goes on, in today's Sunday Express there is a report headed "Doctors Give In To Muslims". Apparently doctors and health workers have been banned from eating lunch at their desks in case it offends their Muslim colleagues during the "celebration" of the Muslim Ramadan festival. What next, patients having to eat after dark so they also don't offend?!

The last news item I want to mention, before I go absolutely crazy, and one which further proves this country is being run by fools was that from yesterday's Sun, although I think it was headlines in the Express, as they reported that fire chiefs had banned white men from attending recruitment open days....and they call the BNP racist?

With what is happening in this country there is little wondder that the BNP are gaining so many new members and it further convinces me that the British National Party are the only hope this country has if it wants to retain anything of what is / was good about this nation. I am also convinced that my standing at this Thursday's election is absolutely the right thing to do and although the election is about local issues, what happens nationally will eventually filter down to us here in Calne so I hope that those reading this will feel as angry as I do about how this once Great Britain of ours is being destroyed by idiotic, incompetent politicians and go out to vote accordingly.

There us still much to do in preparation for the local election so an early night is on the cards. There are not many more days left until Thursday so my waking hours will be spent in election mode. Come 10pm Thursday and it will all be over bar the count so onwards and upwards! I was going to say that a nice rest will be welcome but we have more elections to fight yet so watch this space for news and updates on this and other elections to come.
